Tooo long…

I know…i know it has been to utterly long a time period from my last post and i truly apologize so i have several things that i want to accomplish with this delightful posting…sooo for Aubrey’s sake meme (i dont know if that is some other language or like me telling you what me thinks…)

1) LAST MOVIE YOU SAW IN A THEATER.
I last saw the movie Hancock in theaters…I liked it, as i do most of Will Smith’s movies (baring a few really terrible ones like Men in Black II).  It was good, but it had a lot of cussing and i think that the frase A**whole was said about 100 times…

2) WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING?
I am currenlty reading a book called “The Five Love Languages” so that i can learn how to better know and love my beautiful Elise with whom I am about to become one!   WOOOO HOOOO

3) Favorite Board Game?                                                                                             Settlers.

4) FAVORITE MAGAZINE?                                                                                            National Geographic

5) FAVORITE SMELLS?
I like the way the clean towels smell, and of course i like freshly baked bread, but my favorite smell in all the world is the smell you smell when you go really deep into the woods and there are no people around except you…that is a good smell all the trees and bugs and stuff…

6) FAVORITE SOUNDS?
Elise’s Laugh.
7) WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD?
When you see those lights turn on as the cop passes you and you are going way too fast.
8)WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN U WAKE?
Probably more sleep…

9) FAVORITE FAST FOOD PLACE?
I like Wendy’s…a lot
10) FUTURE CHILDS NAME?
Unlike Aubrey….who happened to lie when she said she didn’t really know…i truly am unsure.

11) FINISH THIS STATEMENT—’IF I HAD A LOT OF MONEY I’d…
I would travel, but i think i would want to give a lot of it away…and maybe buy a giant house in the mountains near a ski slope.
12) DO YOU DRIVE FAST?
yeah…look to the question about worst feeling…but on the curvy road to my house that has a 35 MPH speed limit i normally go about 60.

13) DO YOU SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL?
nope

14) STORMS–COOL OR SCARY?
I love them.
15) WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?
An blue 84 volvo with over 300,000 miles

16) FAVORITE DRINK?
Dr. Pepper, but since i have started losing weight i have completely switched to diet so either Diet DP or Diet mountain dew.

17) FINISH THIS STATEMENT-IF I HAD THE TIME I WOULD…
Go camping and hiking more.  Learn how to make things like furnature with my hands. Grow more bonsai trees.

18) DO YOU EAT THE STEMS ON BROCCOLI?
nope.

19) IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY OTHER COLOUR, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR CHOICE?
I wouldn’t dye it…
20) NAME ALL THE DIFFERENT CITIES/TOWNS YOU HAVE LIVED IN.
Seneca, SC….and Marion, IN
21) FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
I don’t really like to watch sports but i can tolerate football.
22) ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?
She is a good sister.
23) WHATS UNDER YOUR BED?
A bunch of junk…
24) WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE BORN AS YOURSELF AGAIN??
Yeah i would…cause if i was somebody else i wouldn’t about to be marrying Elise Richardson.

25) MORNING PERSON OR NIGHT OWL?
Night…although i am usually very pleasant in the morning.

26) OVER EASY OR SUNNY SIDE UP?
over easy

27) FAVORITE PLACE TO RELAX?
I like the lake or maybe a river, probably anywhere with cool water.

29) FAVORITE ICE CREAM FLAVOR?
Homemade peach or bannana.
30) OF ALL THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE TAGGED, WHO IS THE MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND FIRST?
i probably will not tag anybody cause i dont know how to do that yet….and i dont want to learn!

Well i am sure you are tired of reading about all that, cause i am tired of typeing….I was planning on posting some more…but my fingers are just too tired….well not really i just need to go to bed…So i can save the other post for sometime in the very near future…I PROMISE.

Mama Pat and a Pounding

Well this weekend, as my sister so blissfully put it, Mama Pat went home to glory last week.  It is a kinda wierd feeling when you lose a loved one.  It was hard but it was good to see her go after so much suffering.  She will truly be missed. It is a good thing that kids allways bring joy into hard situations…this is my cousin Dylan.

Another thing that happened this weekend was me and Elise’s Pounding or family wedding shower for those of you who are not in the know, and boy-o-boy did we ever get pounded…

It started out with this…

Wedding gift $20

Package of condoms $7.25

Being humiliated by your family…PRICELESS

And finally the finale, after we had been tossed into the pool…virtually everyone at the party was throne into the pool.  No joke…about 50 people were at the party probably 45 were throne in…it didn’t matter what they were wearing, they just got tossed in…except for Mrs. Richardson…maybe one day…

Isn’t she just totally beautiful!

Friendly Visitor

Well…today Dad was in the garage and he found a wonderful, but large visitor basically stuck next to the stairs.  I think it had been there for a while, due to the fervor which it was consuming that lettuce.  It also ate part of an apple out of dad’s hand.

I looked all over the internet, but i could not for the life of me find out what kind of turtle/tortoise this was.  If anybody out there knows what kind of turtle this is I would love to know.  I think that he has taken up residence in the garage because he is there right now…he probably likes how cool it is in the garage during the day.  Our neighbor, a little girl of about 5, loved that turtle and was petting it on its back.

I think we have a new pet…

JUNE

Well so far all i know about June is that i am losing about 10 gallons of sweat a day at work…if i am not carefull i am just gonna melt away.  This week Heath Yoder on of my roommates from college came down with his family to see the area.  Through my carefull planning i have convinced him that South Carolina is the best place on the planet, and that he should move here…just in time for me to move into my first apartment with Elise in August…kinda funny…were switching.

Anyway, while he was hear we saw the sights.  We went to downtown Greenville.  I showed him Clemson and Seneca.  I took them out on Lake Hartwell, and also on Lake Keowee. They went up to see Isaqueena Falls, but one of the funnest things that we did was jump of the greatest Cliff on Keowee:

It was a lot of fun as you can see…i am sorry to say though that Elise has not yet got the chance to test herself on this great jump.  It is about the highest cliff i am comfortable jumping off of.  It is enough to feel like you are falling for a long time.

And just so that you know that i do not let jobs go undone here is a picture of the Trailer all painted and completed so nobody can say that i don’t work hard…

Don’t worry…i hope to post more than i did in the last week….I WILL prove Aubrey wrong….

Graduation!!!

Well….it is official Kaelin is GRADUATED!!! from high school.  This is my cousin who happens to be five years younger than me.  I am very happy for him!  He is planning on going to a Christian University called Sanford in the fall in Alabama.

The graduate himself!

Your’s truly in his favorite Derek Webb shirt, favorite glasses, and new beard (kind of)

And speaking of things that i think are cool (just kidding…im not that vain) I just got a new CD that i REALLY like a lot.  The CD is from a band called MuteMath.  I tell you what it is a really good music. Jon Gentry (my best man) told me about them a year ago, and i didn’t listen to him when he told me they are great.  My brother also has the cd and i finally listened to them and liked them alot.

IF you pay close attention to the following video you can see that the people are moving, singing, and playing backwards but the song is playing forwards.  YOU can also see that the Lead singer’s lips are moving forwards with the song, but his body is moving backwards.  In filming this video the artists learned how to play/lip-sink the song backwards and they filmed this.  Then they played the film in reverse to arrive at this TOTALLY AMAZING final product

A Job Well Done…

Well as i have said, I have the great and distinct pleasure of working at the YMCA this summer.  I have been working on repairing the office trailer for the past two days and I have accomplished my job by finishing off this great task.  It was a lot of hard work and without a little help, I do not think that I would have been able to finish.  I don’t mind sayin that i think it is a job well done.

And while I am on the subject of Jobs well done…I have to compliment my parents who, on this day 23 years ago, saw the first fruits of the very good “work” that was done while they were in Germany 9 months before that. Thanks Mom and Dad for doing it, without y’all I would not be possible.

Exhausted…

Well…i started work at the YMCA yesterday and after just two days of working there i am already Exhausted!  I have worked over 8 hours both days with all the things that needed done.  I have fixed doors, checked to see what was wrong with light bulbs, cut grass, fixed wheels, and the mother of all jobs…Repaired the termite or carpenter ant damage from the corner of the office trailer.  I tell you what this job took all of today, and i am not even done yet.  I had to take down all the all the old and rotting wood, which included a whole corner of the office. It was rotten all the way to the support 2X4 ‘s and i had to replace them.  Like I said…It was a Big job…a lot bigger than I thought.  I now have busted and trobbing fingers for hammers and splinters, and when i woke up this morning I was real sore from yesterdays workload.

I had a student working with me today who had been sent over by the police.  Thanks police.  This guy had been caught as a minor in possession of alcohol.  He had to serve 20 hours and this was just part of his job.  I got a good chance to talk with him and hopefully give him a good impression of what a Christian is actually like.  I could tell he had been burned by the church on a few occasions.  I got to have some long conversations with him about the church, abortion, denominations, along with a few other things.  It was good to get to know this guy.  Hopefully, Lord willing, our paths with cross again someday.

Anyway,  I think what I am trying to say is that i have had a good first few days of work.  It will be good spending a summer here and I think that i will be able to learn alot and contribute a lot to the YMCA here.

Wow…Im finally home!

Well the past two weeks since graduation have been long and filled with lots of interesting and fun times.  I went to two weddings in Nappanee.  Congratulations Blake(my college roomate) and Jess, and also to Libby(Elise’s college roomate) and Gabe.

After I left IN, I got the wonderful pleasure to go and stay with Elise’s Family for just a few days.  We got some Wedding stuff done, like picking and buying our rings along with a few other things. It was good to see her family again before I finally could head home for the summer.

THEN!!! (after a grueling 11 hour drive) I was FINALLY! (after 2.5 weeks) HOME!  it feels good to be back in South Carolina again.  I truly love this state of mine! Since being home I have done a few things: I have beated Halo 3, I have secured a summer job at the YMCA doing matainance (that happened today, and i am very pleased about having an income for the summer), and I got to take a flight with my Dad.

We flew down to see my sister, Aubrey, in Greenwood, SC.  It was great.  The weather was good, except for some pretty stiff wind and the day was warm.  My brother-in-law picked us up and we had a good lunch with them, then we flew back…it was that simple.  Flying in a single engine plane is harder explain, unless you can see…so for you pleasure i took a video of the taking off and the landing (probably the most exciting parts).
